ITIN Application & Renewal
An Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) is a tax processing number issued by the IRS for people who need to file U.S. taxes but are not eligible for a Social Security number — including many spouses and dependents.
Who may need an ITIN: foreign nationals and others who must file a U.S. tax return; a spouse or dependent claimed on a tax return; students and others with U.S. filing requirements. An ITIN is used only for federal tax purposes — it does not authorize work, does not change immigration status, and does not qualify the holder for Social Security benefits.
How we help at CCG Florida: we provide administrative support to prepare Form W-7 correctly, review your supporting documents (such as a valid passport or certified copies), and guide your application or renewal step by step, in Spanish or English. We are not attorneys and do not provide legal or immigration advice — our role is administrative support and certified translations when needed.
Renewals: ITINs expire if they have not been used on a federal tax return at least once in the last three consecutive years, and the IRS also expires older ITINs by number groups. If your ITIN expired, renew it before filing season to avoid refund delays.
